Year view and day picker
Neighbouring days are nearly the same, so Sunreach lets you choose a day by season. The year view shows every day of the next twelve months for your spot, with the hours of real sun after the mountains take their share.
The year view is free to look at; picking a date beyond today and tomorrow is part of Sunreach Pro.
Sunreach is coming soon to iPhone and iPad; screenshots are from the iOS Simulator, 26–27 October 2026.

What it does
A chart with one thin column per day. Blue-grey is daylight on a flat horizon, gold is direct sun on your spot and amber is low, warm sun. Months run along the bottom, solstices and equinoxes are dashed lines, and small rings and discs mark new and full moons.
Shortcuts jump to Today, the Longest day, the Shortest day and the Equinox. The day picker adds a month calendar with the moon’s phases.
How it works
The app runs the same sun-on-the-spot calculation for every day of the year at a 5-minute step, in parallel and off the main screen, so it is ready a moment after the terrain arrives. If the terrain has not loaded yet, the chart says Flat horizon until it has.
Days are always the spot’s own calendar days, midnight to midnight in its time zone.
How to use it
- Open a spot and tap the date pill under the clock (or open the Year row in the plan).
- Tap or drag along the chart to pick a day. It snaps to solstices, equinoxes and today when you get close.
- Use the shortcut pills for the longest or shortest day, or scroll the calendar and tap any date.
- Tap the check mark to open the plan, 3D or AR on that day.
Tips
- The folded Year row in the plan shows the best day of the year, for example “Best Jun 22 13 h”. Tap it to jump there.
- A dip in the gold band in midwinter means the sun is too low to clear the ridge. Look for the first day it comes back.
- Turn on Milky Way in the year view (when the Milky Way is on in Settings) to see each night’s dark-sky time with the galactic core up.
Good to know
- Like the plan, the year view counts terrain only, not trees or buildings.
